Siblings or ‘Brusjes’

Brusjes are the brother(s) and sister(s) of the admitted child. A disease process can evoke various emotions in the bride from misunderstanding, impotence, uncertainty or guilt. However, it often appears that spouses express these feelings with difficulty or not at all.u00a0

In the first place, it is of course very important how sick the brother or sister is and how far-reaching the consequences of this illness are for the family. Secondly, the character of the child also plays an important role. One child adapts more easily than the other child and one child is very capable of receiving attention in a positive way, while the other child completely ignores it or starts asking for attention in a negative way.
